An independent project. Nothing to sell.
The Finance Algorithm is a free set of 166 financial calculators for Australians. No bank owns it. Nobody is paying to shape the answer you get.
Calculators that show their working.
Every tool here runs a real formula — ATO tax brackets, the RBA cash rate, APRA serviceability buffers, state stamp-duty schedules — and shows the numbers behind the result. The tools are free, need no sign-up, and the figures you type are not stored.
Most finance calculators belong to someone selling something.
Search for a mortgage or tax calculator and almost every result is run by a bank, a broker, or a lead-generation business. The tool is free because you are the product — the answer quietly nudges you toward whatever earns them a commission.
The Finance Algorithm is built the opposite way. There is no company behind it, no advertising, no affiliate links, and no product recommendations. It exists so the math is just the math.
One person — Maverick.
This is a personal project, built and maintained by one person who goes by Maverick. The goal is simple: make Australian financial math free, accurate, and transparent enough that you can check it yourself.
It is not a registered business, and Maverick is not a licensed financial adviser. That is stated plainly on purpose — knowing what something is not matters as much as knowing what it is.
This is information, not advice.
The tools give you estimates and explanations to help you understand your own numbers. They do not know your full situation and cannot replace advice tailored to it. Before you act on anything you read here, check it with a licensed professional. See the full disclaimer for the detail.
It earns nothing.
No ads, no sponsorships, no affiliate commissions, no paid placement, and no selling of data. The Finance Algorithm makes no money from you or from any bank. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here first — before anything else.
See how the numbers are built.
Every figure traces back to a primary source, and every calculator is auditable. The methodology page explains exactly how.
